InterDigital Inc. (IDCC),the technology licensing and research company run by CEO William Merritt, said two of its executives were named to industry leadership positions.

Wilmington, Delaware-based InterDigital said its director of licensing Scott William was appointed to the Licensing Executives Society (LES) board of trustees beginning at the LES annual meeting in October 2016. William previously served on LES committees including the Educational and High Tech Sector Committees. He also has held several other leadership positions within LES including Philadelphia Chapter Chair and the 2015 Annual Meeting Chair. LES is the global leader in standards development, education, and certification in promoting IP commerce.

Ted Naccarella, InterDigital's associate general patent counsel, was elected to the Intellectual Property Owners Association (IPO) board for a two-year term beginning January 1, 2017. IPO, a trade association for owners of patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets, advocates for effective and affordable IP ownership rights and provides a wide array of services to members. The association serves all intellectual property owners in all industries and all fields of technology.

"LES and IPO are outstanding organizations advancing high quality intellectual property rights," said Lawrence Shay, InterDigital's senior executive vice president, future wireless in a statement. "The appointments of Scott and Ted to these key industry positions underscores the pair's leadership and commitment to the acceleration of innovation."
